Our Meals

We embrace sustainability. Organically sourced foods or those fresh from our garden are our preference for the meals we provide.

Breakfast

We offer two breakfast options:

Breakfast Hamper in your Suite: NZ$28,00 per person.
Gourmet Breakfast in our dining room: NZ$38,00 per person.

Our Breakfast Hamper is served to your Suite in room service style. It contains all the goodies for a perfect start of your day: freshly baked bread, pastry or cake, a wide selection of homemade spreads, juice, local cheese, meat or fish, milk, cereals, gourmet yoghurt and fruit. Coffee & tea are always on hand in your Suite. We will bring your breakfast to your Suite the evening before. You can enjoy your breakfast hamper inside in the privacy of your Suite or in ‘island style’ on your outdoor deck. Price pp: NZ$28.

Our Gourmet Breakfast makes a tremendous start of your day. It is a true tasting sensation with organic bread and cake, freshly brewed coffee, organic tea, home-made smoothie, top selection of cereals and yoghurt, fresh fruit dish and lots of European flavours and home surprises. This gourmet breakfast is served at 8.30 am in our private dining room allowing you to have a chat with us while overlooking the panoramic views of the Bay. Price pp NZ$38.

As we only use fresh and organic ingredients for our breakfast hamper and gourmet breakfast, we like to know your orders for these two options on a daily base and this before 1.00 pm the day before.

If you want to escape from all our breakfast temptations and are looking forward to a ‘simple’ start of your day, no problem. You’re more than welcome to prepare your own breakfast in our guest kitchenette. Our local dairy store is just down the road and a Fresh Choice Supermarket is located in Takaka, a 10-minute drive from our place.

Other meal options

There are different delicious restaurants at walking distance from our Lodge. You’re more than welcome to let us know your preference. We will accordingly book a table for you.

After a long day of travelling it can however be a fantastic feeling if you can take time to relax and slowly soak up the atmosphere and scenery of your new accommodation without any worries of restaurant choices or alcohol checks. Therefor we offer the following meal options that you can enjoy in the privacy of our Lodge.

Picnic lunch

For those planning a daytrip in one of our Reserves or National Parks, it can be handy to book one of our picnic lunches.
Our packed picnic lunch includes: two delicious sandwiches, cheese and nuts, crackers, fruit, muesli bar, cookies, cake or muffin, fruit salad and 200ml of local wine, bubbles or orange juice. Please don’t forget to order this the day before (no later than 1.00pm). Your picnic is packed in a lovely picnic bag that you can take with you on your journey. It’s all ready to go for you at our reception at 8.30am. Price: NZ$29 per person.

Gourmet platter

Our selection of platters is an ideal accompaniment to your pre-dinner drink or as a smaller dinner option after a long drive or late arrival in the Lodge.
Our platters include a selection of local cheeses and a wide range of delicious food such as locally sourced smoked salmon, fish pate, salami, dried fruit, grapes, baby tomatoes, olives, gherkins, chutney, home-made jams, basil pesto and nuts. This is all served with a selection of breads, grissini and crackers. Price: NZ$29 per person. Please don’t forget to order the day before (no later than 1.00pm).

Stone grill

If you want to enjoy dinner in the privacy of your own Suite, we can arrange a European style stone grill with a nice variety of meat courses, accompanied by home-made salads and sauces. This option includes: stone grill dinner, dessert and 1 bottle of wine. Price: NZ$69 per person. Please don’t forget to order the day before (no later than 1.00pm).

Important

Because the supply of food delicacies in Golden Bay is quite limited, we need to source our ingredients often ‘over the hill’ in Nelson or Motueka, what means a two hours shopping trip from our Lodge… This makes it essential that you make your meal reservations at least one day in advance.
