The Pohara General Store is in walking distance from our Lodge and is located down by the campground at the end of Richmond Road. Groceries, ice cream, confectionery, beer, wine, meat, fresh produce, ice, tobacco, bait & fishing gear, swap gas bottles, hardware, kitchenware, bread, milk, magazines & papers, excellent coffee & homemade pies, take-out meals, best takeaways in Golden Bay – burgers, pizzas packed full of flavour, crisp battered fish & more… The Pohara Store is open from Monday to Friday from 7.00am to 6.00pm, on Saturday & Sunday from 8.00am to 7.00pm.

Supermarket

The Fresh Choice Supermarket in Takaka is located in 13 Willow Street, near the Golden Bay i-site. Phone: 03 525 9383. Summer opening: every day from 8.00am till 7.00pm.

Salmon Farm

Anatoki Salmon Farm is a small freshwater farm specialising in a superior quality freshwater salmon product. The farm is privileged to be located along the Anatoki River as it flows out of the steep valleys of the Kahurangi National Park. With a tranquil backdrop of native bush, you can relax and enjoy this unique experience. Entry is free, use of fishing rods and tackle is free too. You only pay what you catch. They also prepare your fish for free.
